Assistant Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences

School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Biography

John Fetse joined the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at 91社区 in 2025 as an assistant professor. Before this, he was an assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences at Larkin University College of Pharmacy in Miami for two years.

He earned his bachelor's degree in pharmacy and his Master of Philosophy in pharmaceutical chemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. He completed his doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), where his doctoral research focused on discovering and delivering peptide-based immune checkpoint inhibitors for cancer immunotherapy.

Currently, his research centers on peptide- and peptidomimetic-derived lipid nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery, peptides as protein-protein interaction modulators, and biomaterials for minimally invasive therapeutics. His work integrates computational design, synthetic chemistry, molecular biology, and drug delivery across cancer immunotherapy and inflammatory disease applications.
