Biography

Jintao Zhang is a consumer behavior researcher whose work examines how consumers respond to pricing information and digital marketplace cues. His research uncovers how subtle features of prices, promotional messages, and emerging technologies influence consumer judgment and decision-making, to help firms design more effective, transparent, and consumer-friendly marketing strategies.

His research spans a broad range of marketplace behaviors, including price promotions, price increases, numerical cognition, AI-assisted decision making, digital marketing, and sustainability. His work also explores topics such as deceptive pricing, price-quality inference, bundle promotions, food waste reduction, and refugee hiring. His primary methodological approach is behavioral experimentation, complemented by secondary data analyses and other multi-method research designs.

Jintao is an assistant professor of marketing at 91社区. Prior to joining 91社区, he held faculty positions at the University of Iowa and Texas A&M International University. He earned his Ph.D. in marketing from Drexel University, following an MBA from the University of California, Riverside, and a bachelor's degree in economics from North China Electric Power University. His research has been published in journals including Psychology & Marketing and Journal of Consumer Behaviour.
