Mental Health First Aid Training

Mental Health First Aid Training (6-8 hours + pre-course)

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training teaches individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Certification costs are covered by B-Healthy - Healthy Campus Initiative.

Learn skills needed to provide initial help and support to anyone who may be developing a mental health issue, substance use problem and/or are experiencing a crisis, including peers, classmates, roommates, friends, family members or colleagues. The training includes an online pre-course and a 6-8 hour in-person training (requirements for a three-year certification).

Training sessions are available for students, student groups and organizations, staff, and faculty. Reach out to Beth Riley via email (briley@binghamton.edu) to register as an individual or as a group.
