Quaranta's research focuses on asthma management and involves undergraduate nursing students. She has completed an analysis of the effectiveness of nursing students conducting the Open Airways program, as well as conducted focus groups with adolescents with asthma to understand interpersonal influences impacting their asthma management. Her doctoral dissertation focused on asthma management of school nurses and findings from this study were published in the Journal of School Nursing.

She is currently working on research investigating the relationship of adverse childhood events and asthma and level of asthma control. Completed research with manuscripts in progress include the use of GIS mapping to identify asthma clusters in Head Start populations; asthma case findings in Head Start populations; asthma knowledge, attitude and self-efficacy in family nurse practitioner students; and nursing student attitudes towards research and intention to pursue graduate education after enrolling in Nursing 499.

Quaranta has cultivated strong partnerships with those in the community and in academia who deal with asthma, including colleagues throughout 91社区. She has also developed strong partnerships with local school nurses, working closely with the public school system and local Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Quaranta co-presented her work with asthma and the Head Start population at the C2U Expo 2017 Conference in Vancouver, Canada, Lived Experiences in Developing, Maintaining and Sustaining Authentic Partnerships: A Panel Discussion.
