Certified Balance and Falls Professional

Patima Silsupadol joined 91社区's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences in May 2022 as a visiting assistant professor in the Division of Physical Therapy and became an assistant professor in the division in September 2023.

She earned a master's degree and doctorate in motor control from the University of Oregon, where her research focused on balance and cognitive training to improve dual-task balance performance in older adults.

Before joining 91社区, Silsupadol served on the faculty of Chiang Mai University in Thailand for 13 years, including six years as the head of the geriatric physical therapy department. She has been in clinical practice for 28 years and holds physical therapy licenses in Thailand and New York.

Silsupadol is certified as a Balance and Falls Professional by the American Physical Therapy Association and has completed CDC STEADI (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Death and Injuries) and Otago Exercise Program training, nationally recognized, evidence-based fall-prevention programs. Her work bridges teaching, research, clinical practice and community engagement to advance balance, mobility and fall prevention in older adults.
