Background

Kathleen Denicola-Prechtl is a clinical instructor in the Division of Speech and Language Pathology at 91社区鈥檚 Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences. 

She is an experienced speech-language pathologist with a clinical background in home, school-based, and inpatient medical settings. She holds a PhD in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Prior to joining 91社区, Denicola-Prechtl worked on an NSF-funded grant investigating resilience and risk in word inferencing and vocabulary growth for grade schoolers from low-socioeconomic-status homes in the Developmental Neurolinguistic (DNL) Lab.

Denicola-Prechtl鈥檚 personal research focuses on early childhood language development, with particular interest in early literacy and language within home environments. She has presented her findings at scientific conferences domestically and abroad.

As an educator, Denicola-Prechtl is committed to preparing future speech-language pathologists through evidence-based instruction, clinical supervision, and mentorship.
