Doctoral Focus Fellowship
The Doctoral Focus Fellowship is a new summer award from the Graduate School designed to help advanced PhD. students make significant, timely progress toward completing high-impact dissertations. This competitive fellowship provides a one-time $8,000 summer stipend that allows students to dedicate themselves fully to research, writing, analysis, and project development without external financial pressure.
Over the 10-week summer period, fellows participate in a program that includes structured mentoring to support students in refining their arguments, improving their methods, strengthening project management and communication skills, and preparing their work for publication or other professional opportunities. Moreover, the Graduate School will support cohort building among Fellows.
Eligible applicants must be full-time PhD. students who will have achieved ABD status by the start of the fellowship and have not been ABD for more than a year prior. Students apply at the end of the fall semester. Application materials include a brief proposal, a faculty support letter with a mentorship plan, and the online application form.
Applications are due January 5 (or the closest business day after).
