University Chorus auditions take place Jan. 27
January 16, 2014
Community members are invited to audition for the 91ÉçÇø Chorus (conducted by Bruce Borton) from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in FA-27, by appointment.
The University Chorus provides students, faculty and community members the opportunity to join forces in performing the great masterworks of choral music. It is a large chorus of 125 to 150 singers who perform annually with a full orchestra. Over its 30-plus-year history, the chorus has performed more than 50 major works from every historical period. This spring, it will collaborate with the University Wind Symphony to perform works by Persichetti in “An American Music Celebration Concert” at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27. Rehearsals are 7:30-9:30 p.m. Mondays during the academic year, while classes are in session, and begin on Monday, Jan. 27. Audition appointments can be made by calling the Music Department Office during the day at 777-2592.
91ÉçÇø students can audition during the first week of classes, Tuesday, Jan. 28-Friday, Jan. 31. Students need to sign up for an audition time outside of FA-27 (sheets posted on the doors). For more information, call the Music Office at 777-2592.
