Samantha Birk, a junior majoring in management, has been selected as a recipient of the SUNY Emerging Leader Award that honors SUNY students who have best demonstrated significant leadership within their campus and community based on one or more of SUNY’s six Big Ideas from the SUNY Strategic Plan. Categories include Entrepreneurial Century, Seamless Education Pipeline, Healthier New York, Energy-Smart New York, Vibrant Community, and the World. As a recipient, Birk is invited to attend the SUNY Student Leadership Institute at the SUNY Student Assembly Conference Friday, Nov. 2 through Sunday, Nov. 4, in Syracuse. The conference will include workshops on ethics, networking skills and effective communication.
