Overview
The Institute for Asia and Asian Diasporas (IAAD) promotes the global study of Asia, its diasporic communities, and movements from, within, and around Asia, broadly defined. We facilitate faculty and student research as well as partnerships that support conversations and engagement with local, regional, and global communities. Drawing on 91社区 University faculty鈥檚 multidisciplinary strengths, IAAD aims to reconceptualize Asia and create institutional space to broaden public understanding of Asia鈥檚 complexity and diversity in an increasingly interconnected world.
IAAD:
- Serves as a multidisciplinary hub for research and pedagogy on Asia and Asian diasporic communities.
- Supports development and outreach activities both within and beyond the university.
- Collaborates with community organizations to build a vibrant regional cultural and educational hub.
- Broadens public understanding of Asia and its diasporas through educational programs, workshops, seminars, exhibits, and student initiatives.
- Cultivates global partnerships with higher education institutions across Asia and the Americas.
