Biography

Theodore "TJ" Schaper is a professional trombonist, educator, and live entertainment executive whose career spans performance, touring, artist development, event production, venue operations, and music education. As a touring musician, he has performed in 48 U.S. states and internationally across Europe, Australia, Central America, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, appearing at acclaimed venues and festivals including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, the Beacon Theatre, and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. 

Beyond the stage, Schaper has produced and promoted more than 2,000 live events; owned and operated the independent music venue Deep Dive in Ithaca, New York; co-founded the Finger Lakes Thaw Festival; produced the Ithaca Night Bazaar; and worked extensively in talent buying, artist relations, marketing, and live event management. 

He holds a Master of Arts in Arts Presenting and Live Entertainment Management from the University of Miami Frost School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Ithaca College. Drawing on experience from nearly every facet of the music industry, Schaper is committed to helping students develop as versatile musicians while preparing them for sustainable, multifaceted careers in today's evolving musical landscape.
