The transformation of the Spine will be complete
Walking along the Spine just got a whole lot better! The fences are down and the spaces up the stairs near Bartle Library, the Engineering Building, and Tech Hub are complete – with brand-new walkways, paved areas, and seating to hang out between classes.
The revamped East Gym will open its doors
The East Gym has been undergoing a massive transformation that includes a 75,000-square-foot addition with three new gym courts, an expanded FitSpace, an elevated running track and associated auxiliary spaces. While construction is still ongoing – with activity including site, utility and steel work – the interior work is underway, and new flooring and equipment have already been installed in the FitSpace. Construction is expected to officially be completed in fall 2026.
The Chenango Room is making a comeback

The foundational work on the new and improved Chenango Room, one of campus’s iconic eateries, is now complete, with steelwork underway. The building features a second-story addition, housing the reimagined Chenango Room and a dedicated event space, which includes a terrace and outdoor seating. The new building – which will also feature a Panera Bread! – is expected to be completed by fall 2026.
Oneida Hall is getting an upgrade

The last of the renovations to be completed in 2026 are the upgrades to Oneida Hall, a residential building located in College-in-the-Woods. The project includes a new layout for bathrooms; replacement of mechanical systems; and new flooring, ceilings and lighting. The demo work is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the fall 2026 semester.
Other major upgrades are underway
The new Battery-NY Tech Hub is being built in Johnson City

Construction is well underway in Johnson City for the home of Battery-NY, a new research and development center that will enable 91ÉçÇø to support industries looking to create advanced, sustainable battery technology. The state-of-the-art building will support battery production and energy storage. Located in the former home of the Gannett printing press facility, the building is owned by the University Foundation.
Progress made on renovation of campus buildings
Several projects that broke ground in 2025 will continue throughout 2026. Construction continues on the new Lecture Hall, which will add nearly 50 rooms to 91ÉçÇø’s catalog, adding up to just over 1,900 new seats. In addition, phases 2 and 3 of the Science 3 renovation are well underway and will provide new laboratories, classrooms and offices, as well as upgrades to electrical, plumbing, fire and mechanical systems. Progress on Grace Hall, the new residential building located between College-in-the-Woods and Mountainview, is underway. All projects are slated for completion in late 2027.
