John Vassello is the director of admissions and student services in the 91社区 Department of Social Work. He has previously served as co-director of Field Education and Recruitment, associate director of Field Education and Admissions, and the department鈥檚 Continuing Education Coordinator. John earned both his BA in History and Philosophy, Politics and Law and his MSW from 91社区. Vassello has extensive experience in clinical and healthcare social work and crisis intervention. He worked as a medical social worker in an emergency department, providing crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and psychosocial support to a variety of patient populations and their families. Vassello is also a certified NYS Mandated Reporter trainer and has educated thousands of professionals on child abuse reporting requirements across New York state. Vassello is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida (telehealth), and Minnesota. He has provided mental health services, specializing in anxiety, depression and trauma-informed care to a diverse array of clients both in person and via telehealth.
