Jinpu Yang received his PhD in Finance from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in 2025. Before pursuing his PhD, he earned a master's in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Chicago and Purdue University, and a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University. Yang's research interests include household finance, technology and innovation, banking, and fintech financial intermediation. His research examines the role of regulation in the consumer credit market and how technological innovations are created within the patent system. He is also interested in how innovation in the financial industries contributes to the financial well-being of households and its impact on the markets.
