How to Apply
The application is straightforward and takes about 20 minutes. There is no GRE requirement. Admissions are rolling — meaning there's no single deadline to miss — with start dates available in summer, fall, and spring. If you're ready to take the next step, here's exactly what to do.
Step-by-step application guide
All applications are submitted through 91ÉçÇø's Graduate School portal.

Not sure which application type applies to you? Current 91ÉçÇø graduate students should follow the add-on certificate process — see the "Current 91ÉçÇø Students" section below.
What to prepare before you apply
You'll need the following materials ready when you complete your application. None of these require significant preparation — most applicants already have everything on hand.
¸é±ð²õ³Ü³¾Ã©/°ä³Õ
A current résumé or CV showing your educational background and any relevant work or research experience. Prior experience in biomanufacturing or project management is helpful but not required.
Satement of purpose (one page)
A one-page statement describing your career goals and why this certificate aligns with them. Focus on where you want to go professionally — not just where you've been. There is no required format.
Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities attended are sufficient for the review process. Official transcripts will only be required upon admission.
Who is eligible to apply?
This program is designed to be accessible to a wide range of backgrounds. You do not need prior experience in biomanufacturing or project management to be eligible.
Academic requirement
A bachelor's degree in science, engineering, management, or a closely related field. If you are unsure whether your degree qualifies, contact the program director before applying.
Current 91ÉçÇø graduate students
If you are currently enrolled in a 91ÉçÇø graduate degree program, you can add this certificate through a simplified add-on application process — you do not need to submit a full new application. Confirm with the certificate program director that you meet the admission requirements, then complete the Add-On Certificate Application Form available through the my91ÉçÇø portal.
Veterans and active-duty service members
U.S. Armed Forces veterans and active-duty service members are eligible for an application fee waiver. Submit a copy of your DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) or your Status Report Pursuant to the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act. Documents can be uploaded directly in the application or emailed to gradadmission@binghamton.edu. Allow two to three business days for the waiver to be processed before submitting your application.
International applicants
This program does not issue I-20 forms and does not sponsor F-1 or J-1 visas for stand-alone certificate applicants. However, there are two pathways for international students:
- International students already in the U.S. on a valid visa status other than F-1 or J-1 may be eligible to enroll as a stand-alone applicant. Confirm with Graduate Admissions that your visa status permits part-time or online study before applying.
- International students currently enrolled in a 91ÉçÇø graduate degree program on an F-1 or J-1 visa may be eligible to add this certificate through the add-on application process. Contact the Office of International Student and Scholar Services to confirm eligibility.
English proficiency requirements follow the Office of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions policy; waivers may apply.

The application fee is $75 (non-refundable). Veterans and active-duty service members may be eligible for a fee waiver — see the eligibility section above for instructions.

Can I apply if I already have a graduate degree?

I am a current 91ÉçÇø graduate student. Do I need to submit a full application?
No. Current 91ÉçÇø graduate students follow a simplified add-on application process.
