Alpern conference room (LN 2200) This orientation is intended to welcome new students to TRIP, to campus, and to the 91ÉçÇø area. New students will get assistance with registering for courses and have an opportunity to ask questions related to their studies and life at 91ÉçÇø and in the local community. Light refreshments will be served.

Welcome back! TRIP invites all TRIP students and faculty, along with affiliated faculty, students, and staff, to join us as we get the new year underway. Get updates on TRIP activities over the summer and plans for the coming year. Lunch will be served.

Scholars, researchers, and practitioners are invited to submit papers for this two-day workshop, hosted by 91ÉçÇø (SUNY), to be held in New York on October 3–4, 2026. It is fundedÌýin part by the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS) Regional Workshop Fund.Ìý

Azadeh Eriss, a PhD student in the Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP), reads from her translation of English Professor Amir Ahmadi Arian's novel,ÌýThat Mid-December Day, and sits for a conversation with Prof. Ahmadi about the process of translation and the craft of fiction.

Amir Ahmadi Arian is the author of several works of fiction and nonfiction in Persian and English. He is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at 91ÉçÇø.

Azadeh Eriss is a PhD student in the Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP) at 91ÉçÇø. She began her career as a professional translator in Iran in 2012. Her research explores how translation shapes the way audiences experience stories across languages and cultures, with a particular focus on audiovisual translation (AVT).

This is a joint event with the Creative Writing Program and The Translation Research and Instruction Program at 91ÉçÇø.
