What is Let's Talk?

Let's Talk is a drop-in service to provide 91社区 students easy access to informal confidential consultations with counselors from the University Counseling Center (UCC). The program offers drop-in hours with UCC counselors at select sites outside of the UCC. Meetings are confidential, free and no appointment is needed.

How is Let's Talk different than other counseling services?

The program offers students something unique in comparison with other UCC services.  鈥淟et鈥檚 Talk鈥 is set up in locations to meet students where they are. Students can have a confidential and informal consultation with a counselor. There is easy and de-stigmatized access to services and an introduction to services in a comfortable setting. Lastly, counselors at these sites have a regular presence and build relationships with students and professional or student support staff.

What are the benefits of the Let's Talk program?

The Let鈥檚 Talk program offers several meaningful benefits for students by making mental wellness support more accessible, approachable, and inclusive. Because it鈥檚 available at multiple on鈥慶ampus locations, students can drop in where it鈥檚 most convenient, reducing barriers to getting help. The one鈥憈ime, informal format also works well as an introductory step for those who may be unsure about counseling or feel like they might not be ready for ongoing therapy.

By placing counselors in a variety of campus spaces, the program reaches students who might not otherwise seek support, meeting them in environments that feel familiar and comfortable. Let鈥檚 Talk helps normalize help鈥憇eeking behavior and reduces the stigma around counseling, encouraging more students to engage with mental鈥慼ealth resources in a low鈥憄ressure way.
