What鈥檚 the goal of the asynchronous TA Training modules?
These provide you access to important information that serves as a foundation to your TA role at 91社区. If you plan to go on to teach your own courses as instructor of record, you can also learn more about how to create a well-designed course and syllabus.
Are these modules required?
Please check with your lead instructor or departmental/program Director of Graduate Studies to see if these are mandatory for you.
How long do the modules take to complete?
Expect to spend about four hours completing the course.
Can I have access to these modules, even if I鈥檓 not TA鈥檌ng right now?
Yes! Email GradSchoolPD@binghamton.edu to request access.
Is this the same as CIRTL? Does this count for the CIRTL requirements?
No; CIRTL@Bing is a different process with explicit completion guidelines. You can learn more about it here.
I鈥檓 required to do these modules. How do I prove that I鈥檝e completed them?
You can email GradSchoolPD@binghamton.edu to request that we send that verification to the appropriate person. If you are part of a bigger group of people who are required to complete them (e.g., every TA in the College of X), then you can expect that we will have worked with your department, program, or college leadership to establish a reporting plan and your progress will be included in that.
