WAYS TO GET INVOLVED AT BINGHAMTON

My name is Christina MacDavitt and I’m the International Student and Scholar Services Programming Coordinator here at 91ÉçÇø. As a new student, getting involved in campus clubs, sports and events will be vital to your 91ÉçÇø success. 

Here are some tips on how to become immersed in the 91ÉçÇø Community:

  1. Choose from the list of event happenings on B-Welcome, , or B-Line announcements.
  2. Become involved in one of the .
  3. Go for a hike in 91ÉçÇø’s on-campus Nature Preserve –770,000 sq. meters of land and 81,000 sq. meters of wetlands.
  4. Head down to the East Gym and learn about Campus Recreation's group classes, swimming pool, and open recreation schedule.
  5. Volunteer on campus or in the greater 91ÉçÇø area. The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) works with the local community to provide opportunities to volunteer and make a difference.
  6. Grab a friend and explore the area! Use your student ID to ride the or for free. Participate in the , , go to a , visit the , or check some of the area's great local !
  7. Get to know the campus from near or far! View a virtual tour of campus and the 91ÉçÇø Blog to see the newest happenings!

Ways to get involved with ISSS:

  1. Join the Friendship Family Program and form a social relationship with local community members. Space is limited, .
  2. Join the Global Networking Group and meet other students who are interested in connecting with diverse peers. All 91ÉçÇø students are welcome to fill out the to join this program.
  3. Attend the ! These events are designed to help new international students connect with each other and learn about the many campus resources here to help you. 
  4. Come to the , held once a month. The first coffee hour of the fall 2024 semester will be from 3:00-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4 in the Old Champlain Atrium (Old Champlain, Room 133).
