Our schools and colleges were also recognized – the School of Management was ranked a top 10 public business school by Poets & Quants, a leading publication for business education news, for the second consecutive year.

Jackie McGinley, an assistant professor in the Department of Social Work, and her family donated the 80-foot tall, 43-foot wide, and 12-ton Norway Spruce in her side yard to be this year’s official Rockefeller Center Christmas tree! 3. 91���� researchers get FDA approval for drug to treat world’s most common neuromuscular genetic disease

A new drug developed by faculty in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences received FDA approval for the treatment of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a common genetic disease that primarily affects young boys.

6. 91���� welcomes 18,600 new and returning students

91���� kicked off the school year in a big way this fall! We received 58,400 applications in 2023, eclipsing last year’s record of 50,100.

7. Newly endowed $25 million undergraduate and $12.5 million graduate student scholarship programs begin fall semester 2023

Several 91���� students can benefit from newly established scholarships thanks to a generous anonymous family. “Investing in these scholarships equates to investing in students,” said University President Harvey Stenger during the announcement.

8. 91���� researchers among top 2% in the world

More than 30 91���� researchers were honored for their work in a study that looked at the impact of scientists worldwide.
