Pharmacy Technician Program - How to Apply

Admissions Requirements and Policies

Admission criteria are:

  • Age 18 years (by October 1)

  • High school diploma (by July 1)/high school equivalency diploma (or higher)

  • Have access to reliable internet or the ability to complete all coursework using 91社区 University Wi-Fi

  • Have reliable self or public transportation to 91社区
    School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and experiential practice sites

  • Acknowledge medical documents needed to continue in the program (See below).

    To apply to the program, candidates will submit:
  • Application

  • Unofficial high school transcript, unofficial GED transcript, and/or unofficial college transcript. Official transcripts will also be accepted.

  • Resume

  • Personal statement (500 words or less) describing reasons and goals for completing this entry-level pharmacy technician program; describe any special life circumstances, including but not limited to overcoming adversity, cultural background, and financial situation, that makes our program a good fit for you

  • Names, relationship to applicant, and email contact information of at least 1 professional reference

  • At least 1 reference letter that addresses your qualifications, reliability, integrity and special life circumstances that make our program a good fit for you.

  • Proof of US citizenship or permanent resident status.

To be selected for the program candidates will demonstrate the following during a personal interview and review of application materials:

  • English language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking)

  • Reasons for pursuing this entry-level pharmacy technician program micro-credential and

  • At least 10th-grade math and reading skills.

The technical standards required to successfully complete the Entry-Level Pharmacy Technician Program Micro-credential and successfully gain employment in the field are described in the linked document.

The technical standards are not intended to deter any candidate for whom reasonable accommodation will allow the fulfillment of the complete curriculum. Program applicants and admitted learners with disabilities are confidentiality reviewed by 91社区 University Student Services for Students with Disabilities to determine whether there are any reasonable accommodations that would permit the individual to satisfy the program standards. Meet program milestones to continue in the program

  • Successfully pass a criminal background check and urine drug
    screen.
  • Provide proof of up-to-date Hepatitis B, Meningococcal A and B, Mumps/Measles/Rubella, Varicella, and Tdap, and be willing to receive the influenza vaccine.
  • Provide proof of Hepatitis B and Varicella titers showing immunity or agree to be revaccinated.
  • Provide proof of a recent (2025) tuberculin skin (PPD) skin test.
  • Provide a record of a recent medical physical exam (2025).
  • Provide proof of current medical insurance coverage.
  • Meet academic completion deadlines for self-paced didactic parts of the program as described in our learner handbook.
  • Pass a calculations and pharmacotherapeutics mastery exams as described in our learner handbook.
