Spring Twilight Hike

  • 5–7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19
  • Local, $5

Don your rain boots, Wellies, or muck boots, and grab your rain jacket, 91ÉçÇø! We're heading out for a springtime salamander hike this evening. Expect to get a little wet as we navigate the mud and puddles along the damp forest trails of our Nature Preserve. Let’s see what we can find! This will be a slower-paced hike with short stops to observe the signs and sights of the season’s emerging changes

Overlook Fire Tower Hike

  • 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23
  • Woodstock, $25

The open ledges of Overlook’s peak offer spectacular vistas of the Hudson River valley,
Devils Path and the Ashokan Reservoir. This is a challenging hike up an old gravel
caretaker’s road, but very doable. Waiting at the top is a fire tower with an additional
60 feet in height! Bring along a small pack with lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.
Essential clothing for the weather is a must (non-cotton socks, hat, mittens and
synthetic jacket). It will be windy at the top.

Pharsalia Woods Lean-To Hike

  • 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30
  • Norwich, $20

We will hike to one of the best maintained lean-to shelters along the Finger Lakes trail.
The warmth and crackle of a small fire allows us to toasted marshmallows and make
s’mores during our lunch break. Pack a lunch and a water bottle. Dress in non-cotton
base layers. Wear synthetic socks, jacket, hat, gloves and bring a day pack. Wear
sturdy winter boots. This will be a moderately paced 4.5 mile loop hike over rolling
terrain (no major mountains to climb!)
