Join Outdoor Pursuits staff on an outdoor adventure! No experience necessary. Any fees cover your guide, transportation, and equipment.

Upcoming trips

Fall break in Appalachia: A three-park itinerary

Experience peak autumn foliage across three of Appalachia’s most iconic landscapes on this week-long road trip. All transportation, equipment, and food are included in the fee. Camping is at established campgrounds with running water and shower houses.

  • Shenandoah National Park: Drive the famous Skyline Drive along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, stopping at panoramic overlooks framed by vibrant fall colors.
  • New River Gorge National Park: Explore one of America's newest national parks, featuring dramatic hiking trails, world-class rafting, and views of the historic steel arch bridge.
  • Red River Gorge: End the journey in Kentucky’s premier outdoor destination, known for its massive sandstone arches, forested cliffs, and quiet autumn trails.

Ithaca is Gorges day hike

Lace up your hiking boots for three Finger Lakes gorges: Taughannock Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Robert H. Treman State Park, featuring 115-foot Lucifer Falls. Bring a water bottle.

Chenango Valley State Park evening hike

Join us for an easy social hike along the forested lakeside trails of our closest state park, home to the unique Ice Age kettle lakes Lily and Chenango. Bring water and sturdy hiking shoes.

Ricketts Glen State Park waterfall hike

I don't know about you, but I'm viewing 22 waterfalls along a single trail on one of Pennsylvania's most spectacular hikes. If you're ready to see them for yourself, sign up for this hike at Ricketts Glen State Park. Bring water and sturdy hiking shoes.

Windham High Peak hike

Escape to the Catskills and conquer Windham High Peak, where a moderate 6.5-mile round-trip trail rewards hikers with sweeping 360-degree views over a valley ablaze in fiery reds, oranges, and golds. This hike is the perfect fall foliage getaway.
