Admissions Requirements/Application Instructions

Application to the Entry-Level OTD program is conducted via the Occupational Therapist Centralized Application System (OTCAS). 

OTCAS is Open for Fall 2025 Applications

Applicants must and add 91社区鈥檚 Entry-Level OTD  program to their program materials section. 

Follow these steps:

  1. To , create a username and password. Follow the directions on OTCAS. You will not need to submit payment until later in the process. Details are presented on the .
  2. Once logged in, select 鈥淎dd a Program鈥 in the bottom right section of the application.
  3. After clicking "Add a Program," search for "91社区" and click the 鈥+鈥 next to the name of the Entry-Level OTD program.
  4. Complete and submit your application to 91社区!

Application Requirements

  • Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 from an accredited college or university 
  • Transcripts of prerequisite coursework completion, B- grade or higher, must be submitted 
  • Applicants must complete the following prerequisite coursework to enroll: 
    • Abnormal psychology or psychopathology, 3 credits 
    • Developmental psychology, 3 credits
    • Behavioral sciences/sociology/anthropology, 3 credits
    • Human anatomy and physiology I and II with dissection lab, 6 credits
    • Statistics, 3 credits
  • Submission of a 1,000-word personal statement is required. This statement should address why the applicant selected occupational therapy as a career and how this degree relates to the applicant鈥檚 immediate and long-term professional goals. Applicants should describe how their personal, educational and professional background will help them achieve their goals. This essay is an important part of the application and allows applicants to express themselves. 
  • 3 letters of recommendation are required; one must be from a practicing occupational therapist.

The Entry-Level OTD program does not require the submission of GRE scores.

NOTE: This program is not authorized to issue immigration documents for international students seeking F or J status.

Admissions Overview

  • Admission to the Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (EL-OTD) program is competitive and based on a multidimensional review process designed to provide a fair and equitable evaluation of each applicant.
  • All admissions decisions align with the policies of 91社区, the Graduate School and Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program.
  • Admission offers are made on a space-available basis.

Advanced Standing, Transfer Credit and Prior Experience

  • The EL-OTD program does not offer advanced standing or accelerated pathways based on prior degrees, licensure or professional credentials.
  • All students must complete the full EL-OTD curriculum sequence as published, including all didactic coursework, Level II fieldwork and doctoral capstone experience.
