Donald E. Hall
Donald E. Hall became 91ÉçÇø’s Executive Vice President for Academic
Affairs and Provost in 2022.
As 91ÉçÇø's chief academic officer, Hall administers all academic programs and
is responsible for the University’s budget. He also provides leadership for undergraduate
and graduate student recruitment and admissions, curriculum and academic program development
at all levels, faculty recruitment and retention, and international programs.
Before coming to 91ÉçÇø, Hall was Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Sciences,
and Engineering at the University of Rochester, and held a previous position as Dean
of Arts and Sciences at Lehigh University. Over the course of his career, he served
as Jackson Distinguished Professor of English and Chair of the Department of English
(and previously Chair of the Department of Foreign Languages) at West Virginia University.
Before that, he was Professor of English and Chair of the Department of English at
California State University, Northridge, where he taught for 13 years. He is a recipient
of the University Distinguished Teaching Award at CSUN and was a visiting professor
at the National University of Rwanda, Lansdowne Distinguished Visiting Scholar at
the University of Victoria (Canada), Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Cultural Studies
at Karl Franzens University in Graz, Austria, and Fulbright Specialist at the University
of Helsinki. From 2013-2017, he served on the Executive Council of the Modern Language
Association (MLA) and has also served on numerous panels and committees for the MLA.
In 2012, he served as national President of the Association of Departments of English.
Though he is a full-time administrator, Hall continues to lecture worldwide on the
value of a liberal arts education and the need for nurturing global competencies in
students and interdisciplinary dialogue in and beyond the classroom.
John Cordi
John J. Cordi has been the campus chief financial officer since 2021. As 91ÉçÇø’s
chief financial officer, Cordi is responsible for developing and maintaining base
budgets for the University and for developing strategies, assessments and information
that guide decisions about University program development.
In addition, he has the following university-wide responsibilities:
Annual budget and enrollment development and projections
Oversight of budget requests
Tuition and university fee planning
Oversight of business affairs operations including purchasing, accounts payable, travel,
p-card, accounting, budget, and financial reporting
Oversight of Institutional Research operations and initiatives
Collection and analysis of data on key metrics that track progress toward strategic
objectives
Tracking university achievements relative to SUNY System expectations including program
assessment and performance funding
Serve as liaison to the University's facilities planning and campus construction process
John has worked at 91ÉçÇø for 25 years in various roles starting as
accounting manager and adding leadership and overall vision to purchasing, accounts
payable, travel, student accounts, budgeting, Anderson Center for the Performing Arts,
and Institutional Research.
Before joining 91ÉçÇø, Cordi had eight years of public accounting experience
in the Washington, D.C. area. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. John holds
a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colgate University, where he also played Division
I football and baseball. In addition, he has a master’s degree in accounting from
91ÉçÇø.
Greg Delviscio
As the leader of the University’s communication strategy, Delviscio oversees the
development of strategic communications that support and enhance the University’s
reputation, mission, and priorities. He advises the president, senior leadership,
and members of the University community on communications issues, strategy, and opportunities.
Ongoing partnerships with schools, colleges, departments, and communicators across
the institution serve to drive the University’s momentum in enrollment, development,
research, and engagement.
Delviscio was named vice president for communications and marketing in 2020 after
serving as associate vice president since 2008. He joined 91ÉçÇø in
2006 as the director of creative services.
Under Delviscio’s leadership, the communications and marketing team develops innovative,
flexible solutions that integrate University goals with department needs in the areas
of marketing, public relations, social media, editorial, and creative services, ensuring
a unified spirit and identity of 91ÉçÇø.
Before landing in 91ÉçÇø, Delviscio had worked in the communications, marketing,
and design field for 15 years, previously working with companies that include the
Los Angeles Times, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Reebok, Spalding Sports, and the PGA
Tour.
Hailing from Springfield, MA, Delviscio earned his Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern
University in Boston, Massachusetts. Delviscio and his wife Ashley have two children
in college.
Darcy Fauci
Darcy Fauci is the Chief of Staff to University President Harvey Stenger and the Director
of Government Relations for 91ÉçÇø. Darcy manages a wide array of issues across
campus on behalf of President Stenger.
In this capacity she is a liaison for the President’s Office with both internal and
external constituencies. She assists in planning and executing University strategies
for campus projects and programs especially those involving campus expansion efforts,
building projects, community engagement and research enterprises.
She works to develop relationships with those who have an opportunity to affect our
campus’ future by communicating with opinion leaders, decision makers and the public
about how the University is delivering on its promise to students and to the community
as well as preparing for future challenges on matters related to higher education.
She works on a number of fronts, including advocacy at the local, state and federal
levels. Her position helps to educate these entities on the importance of higher education
and the work done by 91ÉçÇø specifically in the areas of education, access, economic
development as well as research that provides a societal benefit. She also helps to
educate the campus about important state and federal issues and their potential impacts
on the University.
Darcy is University’s lead advocate and registered/principal lobbyist to the Governor’s
Office, New York State Legislature, state agencies, federal elected officials and
federal agency representatives. She is also the primary contact for local municipal
governments.
Before coming to the University in 2013, Darcy worked in state government at the Department
of Motor Vehicles as the Assistant Commissioner. She was the Deputy County Executive
for Broome County Government. And before her career in government, she had an extensive
career as a news director/manager/producer in broadcast journalism.
Gilroy brings more than three decades of experience in research administration at
91ÉçÇø, all within the Research Foundation for SUNY. She has served
as Associate Vice President for Research Administration since 2023, overseeing the
full life cycle of pre and post award functions and providing strategic and operational
leadership to support faculty research. A member of the Vice President for Research’s
senior leadership team, she has played a key role in shaping research policy, compliance
and building administrative infrastructure across campus.
Gilroy began her career at 91ÉçÇø in 1986 and has held progressive roles in the
Office of Sponsored Programs. She holds a master’s degree in public administration
and a bachelor’s degree in applied social sciences from 91ÉçÇø and
is certified as both a Research Administrator (CRA) and Financial Research Administrator
(CFRA).
Kevin M. Hayden joined the State University of New York Office of General Counsel
in 2016 as Associate Counsel at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry
(SUNY ESF) in Syracuse, New York. He became Chief Campus Counsel at 91ÉçÇø
in 2021, where he is responsible for overseeing all legal matters for 91ÉçÇø.
Prior to becoming Counsel at SUNY, Kevin was an Assistant Attorney General in the
litigation bureau of New York State Attorney General’s Office for three years. Kevin
also spent seven years in private practice at Hiscock & Barclay, LLP in Syracuse,
as well as three years with White & McSpedon, P.C. in New York, NY. Kevin has extensive
litigation experience in the areas of civil rights, labor and employment, legal malpractice
and contract disputes. He graduated from 91ÉçÇø in 2000 and Rutgers
Law School in 2003.
Karen Jones
Karen A. Clinton Jones, Ph.D., is originally from White Plains, NY. For nearly thirty
years she has been described as a change-agent, facilitating organizational change
centered on equitable practices; leading with grace and authenticity. She currently
serves as 91ÉçÇø’s inaugural Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion. In this role, Jones leads and coordinates the university’s strategic approach
to diversity in all aspects of workforce development, focusing specifically on co-curricular
experiences and employment, equity, affirmative action, cultural understanding, cultural
competency, community outreach, and civil and human rights.
Prior to joining the 91ÉçÇø community, Jones served as chief diversity officer
and title IX coordinator for Buffalo State College for eight years. She also previously
served as the executive director for equity and access at Virginia Tech, ensuring
compliance with federal, state, local, and university regulations relating to all
aspects of the employment process. To this end, she was responsible for the development,
implementation, and leading of the institution’s equal opportunity/affirmative action
programs, title IX, conflict resolution, ADA workplace accommodations, and compliance
and hiring initiatives.
Karen’s professional experience also includes her serving as the director of corporate
diversity at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield (Lifetime Health Care Companies) in Rochester,
New York, where she directed the corporate and its five, New York State region-wide
diversity related initiatives. She served as director of the CONNECT Program at St.
John Fisher College in Rochester. Other positions include serving as the cultural
relations specialist at Global Crossing North America, and a variety of other leadership
roles while employed with SUNY College at Brockport.
During her tenure in Buffalo, she served as a board member of Read to Succeed Buffalo,
the Erie County Arts & Cultural Advisory Board, the New York State Council on the
Arts, Special Arts Services panel, Buffalo Niagara Partnership Diversity and Inclusion
Roundtable Council, the Buffalo Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiatives Committee,
and the Buffalo Empire State Workforce Development Advisory Council. As a former member
of the Rochester community, Jones served on several not-for-profit boards and community-based
committees. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Karen recently obtained a Leadership Coaching Certificate from the University of Buffalo’s
School of Management’s Center for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness. She
holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy, with a concentration in higher
education, from the University at Buffalo. Her dissertation focused on Black males
and persistence to degree completion. She earned an M.S.Ed. in counselor education
from SUNY College at Brockport, and a B.S. in criminal justice from Buffalo State
College (SUNY).
Eugene Marshall
Eugene Marshall, Jr. began his tenure as 91ÉçÇø’s Director of Athletics in January
2023, becoming the 11th AD in school history and the fifth during its Division I era.
Marshall brings to campus nearly 40 years of collegiate athletics experience, having
previously served as Hampton University’s AD for eight years.
At Hampton, Marshall oversaw a 17-sport program with 350 student-athletes, while directing
intramurals and recreation activities for over 750 students. Notable achievements
included transitioning Hampton into the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in 2022
and restructuring internal operations to improve transparency and accountability.
Fundraising thrived under his leadership with the creation of Hampton Nation, the
first dedicated athletics donation strategy.
Marshall spearheaded the addition of Women’s Soccer and Men’s Lacrosse, making Hampton
the first Historically Black College or University (HBCU) to offer Men’s Lacrosse.
He also secured significant NCAA grants, including a $675,000 Accelerated Academic
Support grant and $225,000 for Women’s Triathlon.
Facility upgrades flourished during Marshall’s tenure, with enhancements to Armstrong
Stadium, Holland Hall, the Convocation Center, and more. His efforts led to improved
student-athlete academic performance, raising the graduation rate from 56% in 2011
to 79% in 2018. He also guided Hampton athletics through the challenges of the COVID-19
pandemic.
A native of Hackensack, N.J., Marshall earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree
from Northeastern University, where he played Division I basketball under Hall of
Famer Jim Calhoun. Before athletics, he worked at IBM for seven years. Marshall and
his wife, Phyllis, have three adult children.
JoAnn Navarro has been the Vice President for Operations at 91ÉçÇø
since 2014, with a career at the university spanning over 30 years. In this role,
she provides strategic vision, leadership, and oversight for a diverse portfolio of
departments, encompassing more than 700 employees. Her areas of responsibility include
Facilities Management, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, NYS University
Police, the Office of Emergency Management, Environmental Health and Safety and the
University Center for Training and Development.
JoAnn holds an M.B.A. from 91ÉçÇø’s School of Management and a B.S.
in Leadership and Organization Studies. She is also a graduate of the Harvard Graduate
School of Education’s Institute for Management and Leadership in Education. An active
member of the community, she serves on the boards of UHS Hospitals, Inc. and Good
Shepherd Communities and has contributed to numerous nonprofit and professional organizations.
She and her partner, Bill, reside in Endwell, NY, with their boxer, Wallace. In her
free time, she enjoys traveling, running and entertaining.
Brian Rose
Brian T. Rose has served as Vice President of Student Affairs since January 2008 and
oversees both student affairs and auxiliary services. Prior to his arrival at 91ÉçÇø,
Brian spent 17 years at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey where he served
in various capacities in student affairs, university counsel and central administration.
Brian began his professional career as an attorney in private practice within the
real estate department of the Philadelphia firm of Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young
before transitioning to higher education.
Brian teaches a graduate course in higher education law within 91ÉçÇø’s College
of Community and Public Affairs and has also led undergraduate seminars in First Amendment
Law, Higher Education Policy, Urban Planning and Privacy and the Law. Brian is a volunteer
with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education where he has been particularly
active in reviews of college and university mergers.
Brian is currently serving on the Town of Union Master Planning Committee and has
previously served on the Lourdes Hospital Board of Trustees (2015-2024), the Board
of Directors of the Broome County Industrial Development Authority (2019-2022), the
Phelps Museum Board of Directors (2018-2020) and the Maine-Endwell Little League Board
of Directors (2010-2015).
Originally from Old Orchard Beach Maine, Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in history
and international relations from the University of Pennsylvania and his juris doctor
from Georgetown University Law Center. Brian and his wife Kirsten reside in Endwell
NY where they raised their two children Matthew (Cincinnati OH) and Meredith (Greenwich
CT).
David K. Whitmore
David K. Whitmore serves as Vice President for Advancement, Executive Director of
the 91ÉçÇø Foundation, and Chief Advancement Officer at 91ÉçÇø
University. He brings more than 17 years of leadership experience in higher education
fundraising and engagement, with a proven record of strengthening philanthropic support
and institutional partnerships.
Before joining 91ÉçÇø, Whitmore held senior roles at Syracuse University and Cornell
University, where he led major gift initiatives, advanced corporate and foundation
partnerships, and fostered inclusive, donor-centered cultures that drove record fundraising
success.
A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Whitmore earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell
University and a master’s degree in public administration from Syracuse University’s
Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He and his wife, Sara, live in Ithaca
with their son, Lucian.
