Skills Lab facilities
Our Skills and Compounding Labs offer simulation spaces for School of Pharmacy programs.
Classroom and alcoves
- A 45-seat classroom surrounds eight ambulatory care exam rooms (alcoves) equipped with audio/video recording for clinical and communication skills coaching with standardized patients.
Community pharmacy
- Features specialized pharmacy software, Kirby Lesterâ„¢ tablet counters, and automated dispensers for high-frequency medication fulfillment.
Hospital pharmacy
- Simulates provider order processing and medication verification. It includes an anteroom for garbing PPE and a 797 cleanroom with laminar flow workstations for sterile compounding practice.
Hospital bays
- Three hospital bays feature beds, four high-fidelity mannequins for physical exams and vital sign monitoring, interprofessional simulation tools, and AV equipment for real-time observation and debriefing.
Home care space
- A flexible space with 22 seats for home-environment simulations.
Compounding classroom
- Provides hands-on practice in sterile and non-sterile compounding. Contains individual stations for preparing ointments, solutions, and suspensions, plus a 797 cleanroom with hoods.
