Funding for Management PhD

Students admitted to the doctoral program receive a  graduate research/teaching assistantship and waiver of graduate tuition for a maximum of four years, conditional on satisfactory performance, as determined by a member of the PhD program faculty.

  • Funding: Students may receive up to $31,000 in annual funding. The assistantship stipend for Fall 2026 is $25,000 per year, supplemented by a potential $6,000 faculty-supervised summer research assistantship.

  • Tuition: For PhD students who receive the full scholarship, tuition and broad-based fees  will be covered for up to four years.

  • Scholarship eligibility: Will be reviewed annually based on academic and assistantship performance.
  • SOM policy does not permit funding recipients to take on any other work (paid or unpaid) without prior approval from the concentration coordinator, PhD program director, and SOM Dean. This policy applies to the fall, spring, and summer terms each year.
